My skin care regimen.
Contrary to what you may think based on my last post, I do actually care about my appearance. I just don’t want to waste half my day focused on appearances so I can focus on more important things like music. Also, I don’t agree with society’s rules of what looking good is. Gucci purses, heavy make up, and 4” heels on a daily basis just isn’t my thing. Some people feel best that way, and that’s fine. But when I wear it, I find myself wasting so much energy focused on material items more so than moments, which is just not the way I prefer to live. And if I ever decided to dress like that, which I have many times, it’s out of insecurity, trying to impress or fit in. To me, looking good comes from within. I can see when someone is radiating and glowing with confidence, and I see it in all different styles of fashion, all different shapes and sizes of people. I believe you can wear anything you want and look amazing if you’re confident in it. Just do YOU. And for me, that means being comfortable, artistic and respectful, and spending as little time getting ready as possible.
On the subject, one thing I’ve always been self conscious about is my skin. With the below regimen I finally figured out after years of trial and error, I can now feel comfortable and confident wearing no make up, which makes life a lot easier.
No one paid me to say any of this. Just thought I’d share in case you have problematic skin like me. Took months for it to work and sounds like a lotta trouble but it takes much less time than doing make up everyday to cover embarrassing blemishes. Also it’s not cheap, but before this regimen I wasted so much money on products that didn’t work so I’m actually spending less now.
So if I’m not wasting time focused on appearances, why did I spend time writing this blog about appearances? Because I believe there are a lot of people out there who could benefit from reading it and I’m a nice person. =)

LIVE FREE OR DIE- my motto for my 28th year of life.
I promised myself that when I hit 28 I would never compromise myself again for anyone. So as I start this new album cycle, I’m the most excited I’ve ever been to create, because this time it’s going to be an outpouring of my purest art and authentic self, both musically and visually.
As a young malleable female artist, I fell victim to people in the biz who said things like, “you should be darker,” or, “sing harder,” or, “dress sexier,” or, “dress more feminine,” or, “sing happier songs,” or of course my favorite, “we need a radio smash.”
But I’m too old for that bullshit now, and fortunately just in time for my 28th birthday, I got the blessing from my team to do whatever the fuck I want. :-D
